School Open - Thursday 15th December

14th December 2022

Dear Parents/Carers

Firstly we would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding regarding today's closure. We did not take the decision lightly and safety of all must be our first priority.

We are pleased to say that the council have now gritted Church Road making it passable. We will be open tomorrow (Thursday 15th December) however there are some things we need to make you aware of.

When travelling to school, please be aware that Boyd car park and the Pavilion have not been gritted. They are both still covered with snow and ice and are very slippery. We strongly advise you to avoid these areas.

If possible, please drop students off further afield so that they can walk into school. This will be a far safer option and will also avoid additional congestion caused by the traffic lights for roadworks at the top of Church Road.

Access routes around the school site itself remain clear and well treated. Movement around the site will be restricted and we will be operating our wet break and lunch procedures to ensure safety as the playground and MUGA are still frozen.

Unfortunately we have not been able to get food delivered to the site due to weather delays caused earlier this week. We will be able to provide hot food to all students tomorrow. However, it is with a very heavy heart that we must inform you that our Christmas Lunch may not be possible. We are working on this and will update you during the day tomorrow.

Please ensure that students wear appropriate footwear and a warm coat.

Again, thank you all for your support and understanding through this challenging week and please be assured that we will make the last couple of days of this term as festive as we can do for our students.

 Kind regards
