We are delighted to announce the launch of a new, dedicated school bus service for students travelling from Langford to Henlow Academy.
This service is being introduced as a pilot scheme for the first half of the autumn term (7 weeks) due to our current shuttle bus being significantly oversubscribed. Our aim is to provide a safe, reliable, and sustainable travel option for our students. Following this trial period, the viability of the route will be reviewed for the remainder of the school year.
The bus will run Monday to Friday during term time. To ensure fairness and efficiency, the route will start at the north end of Langford and move south towards Henlow. Students will be able to get on or off at any of the stops listed.
Morning Journey:
08:15 AM – The Plough PH (Bus Stop)
08:18 AM – The Church Hall (Bus Stop)
08:22 AM – Riverside Gardens (Bus Stop)
08:35 AM – Arrival at Henlow Academy
Afternoon Return Journey:
15:35 PM – School day ends / Students board
15:45 PM – Bus departs Henlow Academy
15:53 PM – Riverside Gardens
15:57 PM – The Church Hall
16:00 PM – The Plough PH
Cost and Payment Information
The service is subsidised to keep it affordable for families, costing £2.20 per child, per day (covering the return journey).
To secure a place and allow us to manage passenger numbers safely, the half term must be paid in full in advance.
Trial Duration: 7 Weeks (35 school days)
Total Cost per Child: £77.00
Payment Method: Strictly via ParentMail
Important: Payment must be cleared in full before a bus pass will be issued. Students will be required to show their physical pass to the driver every day upon boarding.
You may be able to apply for free school transport via the local authority. More details can be found at https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/3/schools_and_education/530/apply_for_school_transport/3 . If you need help with your application, please let us know and we will be happy to help.
Please register your interest in the Langford Bus on the Google Form: https://forms.gle/78kSbBmUSJXdeAdd7
Log into your ParentMail account, navigate to the shop/payments section, and select "Langford Bus Pilot".
Please complete your payment by Friday 26th June so we can finalise numbers and issue bus passes before the start of term.
Please ensure your child is at their chosen stop 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, as the bus cannot wait for late arrivals due to strict scheduling.
We hope this new service provides a helpful solution for your daily school run. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
