RE @ Henlow

At Henlow Academy Religious Education is a core subject that is studied throughout Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 by all students.

At Key Stage 3 students will have 4 hours of RE per fortnight and at Key Stage 4 Religious Studies is delivered in 3 dedicated sessions with a further expected hour and a half of home study.

Our courses are designed to investigate all areas of human religiousness, however, as a church school we have dedicated 70% of our curriculum time to the Abrahamic faiths.

Religious Education is primarily an academic discipline, it is not our intention to evangelise or indoctrinate.  The subject draws upon a multiplicity of skills and approaches; from the statistical analysis of data to a phenomenological, subjective focus on beliefs and practices as they occur in the modern world.
